If you do not select a HDD then there will be no recording, its highly recommend you select a HDD unless you have your own. A HDMI or VGA monitor and cable is needed to view the DVR however you can use a smart TV or connect to the internet and view on your smart device or PC.

To connect to the internet and view online you will also need a LAN cable to connect the DVR to your Internet router or use a powerline adaptor(see below for listing). Also you might want to add different cameras on to this DVR, no problem this DVR can handle TVI, CVI and AHD cameras up to 2MP/1080p.
