If the monitor resolution is lower than 5MP, than the system will not show the 5MP resolution.

The cctv cable which connecting the cameras to the dvr needs to support 5MP resolution. The resolution also depends on the cameras' resolution.

If you connect a 1080P camera, you would get 1080P resolution. Local viewing & Remote viewing.
